A Lot to Say
I’m unsure what his sign says but I suspect it has something to do with Falun Gong, a group based on the teachings of Li Hongzhi. Because of the ban by the Chinese government there has been reports of persecution and intimidation by the Chinese. It could be that the sign is a statement to highlight the human rights abuses in China but I could be way off base. My Leica in Chinatown using Neopan 100SS.

we record these concerns in our photographs but does the international community really put any pressure on the chinese regime?
Hey Dylan..yeah it does look similar and interesting that they are also in Dublin. They are always in SF’s Chinatown and I doubt any pressure will be placed on the Chinese government.

John November 5th, 2007 at 9:46 amJohn,
It’s not a Falun Gong poster at all. It looks like she is asking the SF police and city government to help her get justice: as her children have been abducted and/or killed, her home broken into, her brother died of a heart attack brought on by fear, etc., etc., and because of Chinese ethnic solidarity in SF she has no help within the community, so she’s turning to the government. (Some of the characters are hard to make out.)
